The Franciscan Way

The Chapter makes up the Brother and Sisterhood of the Community of the Crucified One. This is a group of laymen and laywomen who have assembled together, not just from throughout the country, but throughout the world. They have come together to take their vows, modeled after the Third Order of Franciscans. This order, originally founded by St. Francis of Assisi, is comprised of three vows; poverty, chastity, and obedience. These men and women live in the world, have regular jobs and families, and at the same time are not subject to the world. They seek to draw closer to the Lord by practicing these three vows and living a contemplative life in spirit. They also seek the Lord by serving their fellow man and showing God's love.
